Jimena Sánchez spent her childhood in Mexico City reading Children’s Books, watching her favorite cartoons and attending her grandmother’s painting classes. She started her work life in 2005 as designer for a local t-shirt company. In 2006 she decided pursue a career in illustration, this led to starting her own business in 2007 so she could pursue illustration full time.
Since then she has worked with clients from Mexico, U.S. and Europe o a variety of illustration projects. Her work has appeared in text books, magazines and art books. She is part the webcomic project Ensalada de Moneros and in 2009 she started the Blog Ilustrando en México, where she discusses the ins and outs of the illustration business in Mexico.
Se currently lives in Mexico City where she spends the days drawing and staring at the birds outside her window.
